The West Coast's Largest Educational Photography Expo Returns to San Diego April 27-28, 2013
SAN DIEGO (January 30, 2013) – Tickets for Photo Video West, the largest educational photography expo on the West Coast, are now on sale. The action-packed two-day event takes place April 27-28, 2013, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in O'Brien Hall and serves as a forum for photographers of all levels to learn, share, network, and expand their photographic abilities, said Ken Lost, co-producer of Photo Video West.
"We look forward to delivering attendees an experience that they can't get anywhere else on the West Coast by bringing the industry's best thought leaders, products and brands together for one weekend-long experience," added Loyst. "With several new additions to the event, this promises to be the best year yet."
Previously known as Photo Expo West, the new-and-improved event returns with an added focus on videography, printing, framing, and mobile imaging. Part educational, part expo, attendees of Photo Video West have the opportunity to gain valuable education from the industry's top professionals, while exploring today's best brands, watching live interactive demos, and taking advantage of product specials on the showroom floor. Additionally, the show will offer portfolio review sessions, allowing photo enthusiasts an opportunity to have their work reviewed by a trained professional on the spot. Appointments for portfolio reviews must be made in advance through the expo's website.
Educational seminars take place throughout the event's four theaters including the Digital Artistry Workshop Series and Video Theater. This year's featured presenters include world famous photographers such as Victor Ha of Xrite/Tenba/Induro/Benro, Alan Hess of Alan Hess Photography, Ross Hockrow of CineStories, Jeff Medford of CineStories, Jay P. Photographers also have an opportunity to enter the event's World Cup of Photography photo contest presented by ScanDiego and hosted by Werner Publishing, which takes place January 15 – March 31, 2013. The international photo contest gives photographers from any country worldwide the opportunity to compete in the Professional or Amateur division. Photo Video West takes place from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 27 and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 28. Tickets for a one-day pass are $12 per person. For those who want to attend both days, weekend passes are available for $20 per person. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit the Museum of Photography Arts (MOPA) in San Diego.
