PHOTO VIDEO WEST PARTNERS WITH THE MUESEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS
Photo Video West Will Donate a Portion of the Event's Proceeds to the Museum of Photographic Arts
SAN DIEGO (October 11, 2012) –
Photo Video West the go-to event for photography enthusiasts on the West Coast, has selected the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) as its official charity partner. The event, which comes to the Del Mar Fairgrounds April 27-28, 2013, will raise funds for MOPA through entry fees for its World Cup Photo Contest and through donating a portion of admission ticket sales, said Ken Loyst, Co-producer of Photo Video West.
"We are proud to announce our partnership with MOPA," added Loyst. "We look forward to helping support MOPA and its mission to share and explore the art of photography through education and services that benefit the local community. As an event that supports everyone from the novice to the professional photographer, our goal is to inform and educate photographers of all levels."
Photo Video West serves as a forum for the professional photographer to see the best brands, source for deals on photography equipment and gain valuable education from some of the best known names in the industry. The two-day conference offers educational seminars and how-to instruction, photography equipment and accessories, and portfolio review sessions that allow photo enthusiasts an opportunity to have their work reviewed by a trained professional on the spot. April's exposition will also put a greater emphasis on videography, printing and framing, and mobile imaging.
MOPA's mission is to inspire, educate and engage the broadest possible audience through the presentation, collection and preservation of photography, film and video. The museum supports its mission through providing a dynamic series of photography collection exhibits, film screenings in it's 226-seat Joan & Irwin Jacobs Theatre, educational programs designed for students of all ages, including programs in San Diego area schools to encourage students to appreciate the visual arts, the Edmund L. & Nancy K. Dubois library with over 20,000 photography publications, augmented archival facilities and support areas, and more.
